We have some incredible homes this week that are seriously making me want to move to the French countryside. One of them is being sold as a ‘viager occupé property’. This is a unique concept and one I don’t see in many other countries. Essentially, you acquire the home for a low price, the seller gets to live in the property until they die and you also pay them a small amount each month. Once they die, you get the property. This is common for older folks looking to supplement their retirement earnings. It’s certainly unconventional but could be a good deal for you if you’re not in a hurry! I’m sure your kids (or grand kids) would appreciate it!
