How are things in your part of the globe? I can’t help but feel like the entire world is in flux right now. Change may be the only constant but its certainly enough to make me just want to run away from it all. Or at least spend plenty of time on the beach ignoring it all (I believe they call that a coping skill? 😅).

Thoughts on the current housing market in Spain.

I recently read a report by Spanish economist Gonzalo Bernardos, he predicts overall sales volume in Spain to decline by 10% in 2024 but prices to only decline 3%. The slow down mainly driven by recent increases in interest rates. I find it interesting that while demand has fallen nation wide, prices have not dropped considerably.

Major cities like Barcelona and Madrid are seeing growing demand from foreign buyers, keeping prices strong in those markets. From what I’ve seen, deals are still possible, but more so further out from city centers or in 2nd and 3rd tier cities.
